Luxe. Modern. Stunning. Upon completion, Cobalt Apartments by Prometheus Real Estate Group will provide luxurious resort-style living in the heart of Santa Clara. Roof decks, outdoor lounges, cozy fire pits, Wi-Fi cafes, and a fitness center will beckon residents to unwind and connect. Metal cladding and stucco will add to the community’s contemporary flair, while staying true to Santa Clara’s unique flavor and architecture.
So when it came time to incorporate the same high-end design into the bathrooms, Architects Orange, the project’s specifiers, left no detail overlooked. Clean lines, smart lighting, and modern fixtures in sleek finishes adorn the chic bathrooms. But it wasn’t just aesthetics that were considered in the design process—safety and functionality were paramount.
In order to meld beauty, durability and universal design, Architects Orange chose Bestbath shower pans. With a barrier-free design, front trench drain, and attractive gel coat finish, the shower pans checked all the boxes for both universal and contemporary design. “We wanted a shower unit that was fully accessible and could adapt, should tenants need to install safety accessories in the future,” says Keith Minnie, the project’s architect. “At the same time, we needed units to be innovative and modern, which the barrier-free design and front trench drain also accomplish.”
Bestbath shower pans were also selected because of the company’s ability to manufacture to the project’s unique aesthetic and accessibility specifications. This included engineering a shower pan that could accommodate a sleek glass panel mounting and provide overall ease of specification.
“This project called for more than an average off-the-shelf shower pan,” adds Minnie. “We needed a partner that could help us create a shower that would be at the height of contemporary design, yet provide a bathing experience that could be enjoyed by anyone—Bestbath was that partner.”
