The following is a transcript of the video "What Bestbath provides customers through custom design and customer service: A PCBC Conversation" :
Kenneth: It speaks to how far you'll go and I thought this was interesting. You brought a mock-up to the site but then the mock-up had a cut away and I mean you would actually cut the unit in-
Lee: Yes.
Kenneth: -in a piece or pieces. Now, can you talk about what that showed and what they were after and why you did that? Went to that expense?
Lee: To satisfy everybody, you know, we exchange many different wall samples and finishes and Edward's team came to me and they said, "Hey, we need the mock-up that's as close to this dimension as we can, and we're gonna have you saw it into two pieces." So it was literally split in half, so they used that also, not only for the dimensional criteria to fit and finish but also for the framing.
Edward: Right.
Lee: Just to make sure because I'm sure that if I'm right it was all prefab'd framing.
Edward: Yeah I think it was.
Lee: It came on site and those have to be right on, or they've got X amount of walls that are incorrect, and that's a lot of rework and... You know what, it's something that we do at no cost because of our relationship. You know, some people would not be able to make that, you know. I work for a company that I'm the guy that's gonna make the answer happen. Do you need that? Yes, we got it. That's a real great way to be.
Edward: Another thing is everyone today is looking for that little thing special that when someone comes in, they go, "Oh, well that's really really nice," and so when they get a developer, whatever it is, "You know, I want a trench drain here." And then you start looking through all the catalogs, you go, "Well they don't really make it. Here's one," and they don't like it. But if you can go to Bestbath, which has been our experience, they've said, "Well what do you want? We'll see what we can come up with." Then they can meet that and that makes the developer very happy because now he's got a very distinctive looking unit that when people come in they go, "Oh, wow, I haven't seen that before."
Lee: And again, speaking to the longevity, the sustainability. We both share common developers. We have a luxury multi-family developer that's probably the largest in the Penally own [SP], in the bay area. Their architects come to Bestbath. All of a sudden, we're now working with Hickey on five, seven, 800 units of multi-family and we just go right down the road. I mean, it's the same, the same game. They know us, we know them, they know delivery, you know, you go to the job site, their guys are so good, they install very well.
Edward: I know, this is to speak to that particular project. My brother was working as estimator on that, and I know that before Bestbath came in, he was pulling his hair out, and he doesn't have any hair. And he was trying to come up with what they were asking for, and he was bringing in all these products. And every day I came into their office and I'd see something new out there, and he was just going, "I can't satisfy these people." That's why we brought Bestbath in.
Lee: Yep.
Edward: Because when they came in, they said, "What you want? Okay, here. We'll do this, and now we're 550 units later. We're just finishing those last units and they're as happy as they can be.
Kenneth: That's great! Gentlemen, thank you.
Lee: It was a pleasure.
Kenneth: I think we covered a lot.
Edward: Thank you very much.
Lee: Well, you know, it's all good to pretty good plumbings.
Edward: Make my life easy. Yeah.
Lee: It's quite a relationship. When they are gonna carry on, maybe I'll bring my son on.
Kenneth: That seems to be the trend.
Lee: Exactly.
Edward: There you go.
Kenneth: Thanks for joining us at PCBC 2016. See you next time.
